Zaki Al-Maboren was born in Sudan in 1959. He received his bachelor's degree in Graphic Design at the College of Fine and Applied Art in Khartoum in 1983 and moved to Germany in1987. There he finished his studies at the Goethe-Institut Iserlohn and received a Magister Artium in Art and Political Science. Al-Maboren has been working as a freelance artist in Kassel since 1993. Major themes of his work are the symbols and myths of the Muslim and Christian religions. With his perspective, he shows that which links and that which separates, at the same time creating his own mythological symbolism. From the beginning, he has set up numerous exhibitions and workshops in various European countries, also in Asia, North America and Africa.
